dryer problem solved!

during the last 6 months, my dryer became very inefficient.    it took two complete cycles to dry a load of laundry when it should just take one.

i vacuumed both sides of the dryer duct and it only got slightly better.  i knew that i didn't do a thorough job because i couldn't reach the entire duct.    a professional dryer duct cleaner was enlisted and yesterday he completely cleared out my dryer ducts and it was NASTY.  huge clumps of blue dryer lint were flushed out.   as soon as he left, i did my first load of laundry and guess what?  my load was dried in one cycle.  yay!

i seriously thought i needed to buy a new dryer and washer to match the dryer and i wasn't looking at dropping almost $1,000.    for $125, i extended the life of my 10+ year old washer and dryer for hopefully a few more years or until we move out of our current home.    i am hoping once we sell this current place, we can A) unload them to the next owners B) get rid of them because they are not following us to the next house!

so if your dryer is inefficient, hire dryer duct cleaners to see if your ducts are the problem.   i am glad i did.
