first handmade recycled pet bed
thanks to the generosity of my neighbors and friends, there was a influx of old towels that went to several animal shelters. a good portion of the towels were folded in half, stuffed, and hand sewn into big rectanglar pet beds.
my husband generously paid for my new sewing machine so i could attend sewing classes as an early birthday gift. with a sewing machine and basic sewing skills, i created a pet bed, the kind you see in the store, with old towels and batting from an old pillow.
as soon as i snapped the picture, someone came over to stake her claim.
too bad she's a little too big for this pet bed. :P i drove over to the los angeles pet shelter this afternoon with two of these beds and the guy behind the counter, instantly placed each pet bed into the cage of one dog and one cat. it warmed my heart to see both animals instantly take to the pet beds. yay! it was very rewarding to see this after having spent two hours on each bed. totally worth it!
i don't have a pattern set for the pet bed yet but will post when i figure it all out. i need to improve as the bottom of the bed. it doesn't look as pretty as the top portion.
