gimme 5! recycle plastic containers!

starting in january 2009,  you can recycle plastic #5 (the number indicated in the recycle symbol) at select whole foods markets.  can't wait.    you can recycle common food containers (yogurt cups, sour cream containers, hummus tubs, and medicine bottles) and britta water filters for pitchers!   check this site out later this month to see which whole foods will have a recycling bin for plastics.

confession: i dump all plastic containers in our plastic recyclables trash bin at our apt, regardless of #. ha!

i'm guilty of that, too! i do give large kitty litter bottles and detergent bottles to my folks to recycle on my behalf.
